Chad Cox
Head Men's Soccer Coach - East Texas Baptist University

Chad Cox enters his first year as the head coach for the men's soccer team after being the assistant the past four years. The ETBU alumnus was a two-sport lettermen playing men’s soccer and baseball.
 
This past season, 2018, he helped guide ETBU to their best season in over 10 years. ETBU won their first-ever NCAA Division III post-season match in a 1-0 win over the Ozarks in the ASC Tournament. They also had a six-match unbeaten streak which was the longest since 2000.

  • Graduated from ETBU in 2012
  • Assistant boy’s and girl’s soccer coach at Palestine High School for two years (2014-15)
  • Served as a Math teacher
  • Palestine High School advanced to the University Interscholastic League 4A Regional Finals (2015) and 4A Areas (2014) in his two years
  • Led the girls’ soccer program to UIL 4A Bi-districts (2015) and 4A Areas (2014)
East Texas Baptist University (student-athlete)
  • Four-year letterman for ETBU
  • Earned All-ASC Honorable Mention as a senior defender
  • Played 59 matches in four seasons (2008-11) while starting in 47
  • Started all 18 matches in senior season
  • ETBU won 20 matches in four seasons
  • Best season came in 2008 going 7-7-3 and 6-5-2 in ASC
 

David Jackson
Graduate Assistant

David Jackson transitions from the playing field to coaching entering his first year as a graduate assistant for head coach Chris Crawford. Jackson lettered four years at ETBU and graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Kinesiology.

  • Played in 55 career matches finishing with eight goals
  • Led team with seven goals in senior season
  • Had two game winning shots in 2016 vs. Schreiner University and Louisiana College
  • Took 70 shots in final two season at ETBU with 44 on-goal
  • Helped ETBU to their first nine-win season in 10 years finishing 9-9 in 2016
  • Played club soccer from the Santa Fe “Those Guys” U-19 team
  • District MVP in senior season and had 28 career goals in high school
